Web Active got the call. Yet antoher user unable to send email. Works great at the office but when at home, email will not send. Trying smtp.saix.net or smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net or private company mail server, email just will not send. A technician went to the clients house.
After many attempts at working with the initial setup, disabling Telkom Router Firewall, setting custom rules and port configurations the router was set back to factory default.
Internet working but still - problem sending email with Microsoft Outlook reporting SMTP mail server not available and various error codes!
Phoned the Telkom helpline on 10217 and spoke to first level support who confirmed the default standard tests.
After still not resolving the matter, was put through to Telkom second level support with a reference number. Second level support investigated the matter and reported that SAIX had blocked smtp sending due to a prior spam/malware infection from that ADSL username. Had to comply by running certain checks that night and then proceeded to phone Telkom support the following day.
The block was removed on that ADSL username, and 3 hours later with a router restart smtp mail was working once more!!! Client is now happy to be able to Send mails from the comfort of their home!
NEED AN SMTP MAIL FIX - CALL WEB ACTIVE SUPPORT on 021 556 4809 and we will be the resolution!
